Kevin Wade describes his approach to design as ?fork in the toaster.? Born of a successful but ultimately unsatisfying few years working for graphic design and advertising firms, Wade?s keep-poking-till-it?s-good stance is a guiding principle of Planet?s ideology. His work has earned him wide recognition, including a Grammy nomination for Best Package Design, awards from pubs such as Print, HOW, Communication Arts, Graphis, and I.D., and publication in dozens of design books. Wade admits to a degree in visual communications from Eastern Illinois University, but hastens to add, ?That was a long time ago.?
Wade has served as creative director on accounts that range from Target and Miller Brewing Company to Harley-Davidson Motorcycles and Jimmy John?s Gourmet Sandwiches. In addition to his aesthetic and philosophical contributions to Planet, Wade composes and produces soundtracks for many of Planet?s television and motion graphics projects.
When not on duty at Planet, Wade enjoys spending time in the recording studio and offending the meek with his band, P?elvis.
