Laura Ballesteros

Hi! I was born in Cali, raised in Bucaramanga, and have spent the last few years of my life in Bogotá. I studied social communication and journalism at Universidad Autónoma de Occidente, but I switched from print media to advertising ideas when I fell in love with creativity.

I interned at El Espectador newspaper, worked in communication agencies and in politics, and entered the advertising industry 7 years ago, initially as a content creator, then as a community manager, and finally as a copywriter.

I have worked for agencies such as Leo Burnett, Proximity, DDB, and currently Edelman, all from Colombia. I have participated in various festivals and creative competitions throughout my career. In terms of creative recognition, I achieved a Shortlist in Young Lions Colombia in the PR category in 2020; I received multiple awards in the student category (New York Festival, Clio Entertainment, FIAP, Mad Stars, and El Diente) during 2022 under The Pub School's Workshop Awards program, and in 2023, my team and I have won significant awards at The One Show, Cannes, D&AD, and Effie Colombia.

On a personal level, I was selected for the See it Be it program in 2020 and again in 2023. Currently, I am a co-founder of Círculo de Creativas Colombia, along with 5 talented women and friends.
