Some 45 years ago, I graduated in Graphic design. I loved it and became quite renowned at it.
But then, just as I was feeling blasé of the whole thing, I freelanced in an advertising agency and discovered what being an art director was. A universe opened up to me. Over the years, I went from art directing to copywriting and creative directorship in agencies across Canada, from Calgary to Montréal and Quebec City.
Thirteen years ago, I left the agency world and founded my own consultancy, Pixel & Cie. I still get to work on a variety of fabulous accounts with an incredible pool of talented and seasoned freelancers, which allows me to custom-build teams based on client profile, wants and needs.
Some 300 national and international awards later, I still do this but from a strategic point of view. And I get to spend the rest of my time as a regular lecturer at Laval University in Quebec City where I teach courses in Creative Advertising, Project Management and Advertising Persuasion. I also give much of myself to coaching teams of university students in different interuniversty competitions such as the Happening Marketing, Commerce Games, etc.
I am a regular lecturer on a variety of topics related to the advertising and communications-marketing fields.
I have been a juror on many creative and strategic competitions and a contributor to industry publications.
