David is a dynamic and inclusive communications leader with a passion for leveraging the power of storytelling and creativity to make a meaningful impact in both business and culture. With a robust background spanning the advertising and media industries, he brings extensive experience in guiding successful communications teams.
In 2019, David joined Ogilvy, where he has been instrumental in driving strategic communications initiatives. Before that, he held pivotal roles at esteemed organizations such as ABC News. At ABC News, David played a vital role in shaping media relations strategy and served as a spokesperson for various ABC News talent and broadcasts, including the renowned 'World News with Diane Sawyer.' Additionally, he led communications strategy for the launch of Fusion TV in 2013, a notable cable network resulting from a joint venture between Disney/ABC and Univision. In 2015, his responsibilities expanded to include overseeing the network's marketing efforts. During this time, he was integral in transforming Fusion from a Miami-based cable network to a prominent national media company that acquired renowned digital brands such as Gizmodo, Jezebel, Deadspin, and The Onion.
David's career began at The Karpel Group, where he gained valuable experience as a publicist specializing in LGBTQ market outreach, establishing a strong foundation in the entertainment industry.
Actively involved in industry associations, David currently serves as the co-chair of the 4A's Agency Communications Committee and contributes as a member of the ACT Responsible Advisory Board. His expertise has also been recognized, as evidenced by his participation on the 2021 Public Relations Jury for The One Show.
David holds a B.A. in Music Industry from the SUNY College at Oneonta. He currently resides in New York with his partner and their beloved golden retriever, Maddie.
