Maurice Ugwonoh is an accomplished Creative Director with a professional Certificate from the Chartered Institute Of Marketing, Certificates in Consumer Behaviour and Marketing Communications from Edinburgh Business School, UK. Maurice brings 15 years of experience spanning JWT Lagos, Leo-Burnett Lagos, FKG2, FCB-Impact, DDB Lagos and finally Noah’s Ark where he designs and executes brand communications strategies and campaigns for some of Africa’s apex brands like Nokia, Maltina Airtel, and more.
In 2012, Maurice won Nigeria’s first International award with Silver at EPICA for a Nike Foundation-Girl Hub ad called “speechless”. Maurice was also the first Nigerian copywriter to win a Loeries award in 2013 and & first to win an African Cristal award for the Durex digital ad “Standing Erect” in 2013. In 2017, his written TV commercial for Airtel "LOST" became the first Nigerian TV ad to win Gold on a global stage at EPICA in Berlin while winning the Grand Prix at LAIF awards in Lagos. ADweek lauded “LOST” as one of the world’s most hilarious TV spots of 2017. In 2018, Maurice’s co-developed TV ad campaign for Airtel, won West Africa’s first Grand Prix at the African Cristal Awards, among many other notable awards.
