I’m a brander and strategist with 25+ years experience marketing blue-chip clients such as Coca-Cola, Exxon, and The Mayo Clinic. My new agency, MOK2, marks the next stage in my long career of socially responsible global branding. Spearheading brilliant campaigns with a cutting edge is my signature. I build award-winning brands with top creative development, strategic positioning, and on-target execution. I head up a think-tank of experts whose informed strategy and unconventional creative solution design catapults new products and reinvents the perception of established brands. We revolutionize the art of branding.
BACKGROUND: In 1996, I opened my first advertising agency in South Beach, CRE8TIV JUICE GROUP w/ creative director KEVIN KELSICK. Based in the Herzog & De Meuron icon, 1111 Lincoln, we became Miami’s go-to “good-for-good” branding firm for clients: The Bass Museum, National Foundation for Advancement of the Arts, Florida Grand Opera, Young at Art, Miami Culinary Institute, MOCA Miami, and The City of Miami Beach.
You’ve probably seen our standout campaigns for: China Grill, David Barton Gym, Sony LTN International, Desmond Child/Deston Entertainment, South Beach Food & Wine Festival, and Douglas Elliman. And you’ve experienced what we did for independent boutique hoteliers by conceptualizing each project, then launching a unique hospitality brand: The Clevelander; Essex; Obadon Hotels’ Mayfair, Brazilian Court & Traymore; The Carlyle; The Nash; Sagamore; Casa Casuarina.
HISTORY: I come from a family of five generations of farmers in Santa Ana, El Salvador. I grew up in seed-to-soil coffee country in The Golden Belt and brought that earthy sensibility with me when I moved to Miami at 14. Because of my passion for social responsibility, I create intelligent cultural and environmental campaigns that impact water management, climate change, and habitat preservation.
