Dave Canning is currently Executive Creative Director of Joan.
Before joining Joan, he was ECD of 180 Amsterdam, where he worked on clients such as Asics, Replay, DHL, Moyee Coffee, Qatar Airways and United Colors of Benetton, for which he won the agency's first D&AD Pencil in 8 years.
Prior to 180, he was a CD at Barton F. Graf 9000, where he worked on accounts such as Little Caesars, Dish, Clash of Clans and helped win new business pitches for GoDaddy.com, Mars, and grubhub. While there, he created the award-winning Climate Name Change for 350.org.
Before Barton, Dave was a creative at Wieden + Kennedy and Y&R, NY, where he helped create work for the Emmy winning “It’s Not Crazy, It’s Sports” campaign for ESPN, the Whatever’s Comfortable campaign for Southern Comfort and the Never Ending Projects campaign for Craftsman.
His work has been recognized many times in every major advertising show including Cannes, D&AD, One Show, Clios, the ADC and the Andy’s. He was named one of the top ten most awarded creatives in the world in 2014.
He lives in New York City with his wife, Kasia and his ceramic dog, Fusilli.
