Overall goal: increase awareness, understanding and support of UCLA's vision, mission, and accomplishments among its many constituencies through formulation and implementation of strategic communications initiatives, plans and events. Responsibilities include: developing creative solutions that strengthen marketing campaigns; integrating brand strategies into marketing materials; providing visual design expertise to various audience segments. Marketing materials include all forms of media from broadcast to social media channels such as UCLA capital campaign materials, student and faculty recruitment materials, brochures, print and digital ads, event materials, presentations, reports, proposals, publications, signs and banners, advertising, overarching campaigns, websites, social media and other targeted communications to advance the goals and strategies of the brand positioning at UCLA. This includes multiple contributions to different projects working closely and collaborating with multiple teams, external agencies, and independently with UX developers, writers, film directors, video editors and print designers to help define UCLA’s visual aesthetic. As steward of UCLA's brand and image, to tell UCLA's unique story — the shared values, opportunities and achievements that make this public institution a dynamic and diverse entity, I have strategically participated in developing stories and experiences for many initiatives, and share them in ways that are compelling, accessible and engaging. Some of these initiatives include the UCLA Brand campaign, UCLA’s Centennial 100, Blueprint magazine, UCLA Luskin Conference Center Grand Opening event, the UCLA Admissions Diversity brochure, the UCLA Jackie Robinson monument unveiling event, and the 2015 Spring Sing held at Pauley Pavilion to name a few.
When I started Acme Advertising, supervising my creative department and overseeing everything from accounting to client services was imperative. With my client Pacific Snax, I directed and delegated teams with understanding the challenges faced by the CEO of Pacific Snax Corp. This led to key insights, followed by collaboration. I led by example in developing solutions to client problems, rallying my teams to execute and produce required assignments, while I managed budgets & operations. After the success of the cross-promotional tie-in with Universal Studios to develop Jurassic Snax, Pacific Snax Corp. became a publicly traded company under stock symbol SNAX. Our motto: Ingenious solutions to advertising problems.
