A British native, Jonathan Parkinson moved to South Africa in 1983 and launched his directing career in 1989, working under different companies, including his own, the last 15 years with Fresheye Films. He had the privilege of working with Nelson Mandela several times, including the historic address to the nation in 1993. He’s won a variety of awards including Clios, London International, New York Film Festival, Loeries and a Cannes Silver Lion. He believes that for a commercial director, the most important thing to be is a chameleon – approaching each job with a unique perspective so as to capture it’s identity. What continues to make him a great director is the passion he pours in to every project.
