Andrew earned second place in Australia's national karate tournament and worked security for the Rolling Stones before settling into account planning and management roles at Publicis, Mojo and BBDO Clemenger in Australia and New Zealand. He joined McKinney in 2002 as head of account planning and was named chief strategy officer in 2005, overseeing account planning, connection planning, interactive strategy and media. His mantra: "Strategy begins with how a client makes money and ends with clarity on whether our work did what it was supposed to do." Among his many contributions as a strategist and leader, he created the Travelocity Guarantee, an idea that doubled the already double-digit growth from the introduction of the Roaming Gnome. Andrews is chairman of the 4A's Strategy Committee and chaired the 2010 Jay Chiat Strategy Festival (formerly the 4A's Planning Conference), the first international festival celebrating the impact of strategic thinking on creativity.
