A copywriter by training, Tom rose to become Vice-Chairman and Creative Director of Ammirati Puris Lintas, New York. Today, after 28 years in advertising, he is a copywriter again.
In the industry, Tom is known for his work on UPS, Stanley, Labatt, and NutraSweet. Gardner Nelson & Partners, by the way, is Tom?s second start-up. In 1993, he went to Toronto for Ammirati to start what for many years was among Canada?s most admired agencies.
Tom spent eight years with Ogilvy in Chicago, where he helped introduce cellular phones for Ameritech, McKids clothes for Sears, anti-lock brakes for Bosch, and a sweetener called NutraSweet.
Tom and his wife, Lisa, live in Larchmont with their three children.
