?It?s my goal to create advertising that challenges conventional thinking,? says Marino Puhalj. ?So when you see the work, you feel it.?
A graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, he also earned a B.A. in painting from Thiel College. Marino has practiced the art and science of advertising since 1987, winning numerous awards along the way. Before joining Biggs|Gilmore in 1997, he was an art director on accounts including Ameritech, Bethlehem Steel, Sherwin-Williams Paints, Volvo, Whirlpool, White Castle Hamburgers, Owens Corning, Wolverine World Wide and Progressive Insurance Corporation.
At Biggs|Gilmore he heads the team of writers, art directors, designers and interactive designers who develop print, collateral, TV, radio and interactive brand expressions for clients that include DuPont; Zimmer; Kellogg; Pfizer; American Greetings; Bayliner, Maxum, and Trophy boats; and Meridian Yachts. Marino strives to raise the level of creativity and effectiveness of the work while also raising the creative department?s spirit and professionalism.
?Ideas don?t keep,? he says. ?Something has to be done about them. It?s up to me to seize the essence of an idea and use it to give prominence to a brand personality.
?We are surrounded by possibilities that are infinite. That?s what keeps me coming into the office every morning. What adventure awaits me today??
