Brief | Inside the building, stylized ethnic Lithuanian motifs dominate the decor. One of the most striking features inside the building is the ceiling, which served as a key inspiration for the new DAINA visual identity. Based on the ceiling pattern, we created a dynamic grid, easily adaptable to different formats, such as posters, social media layouts and merch. While building the identity, our pallette used colours we found in ethnic motifs of the authentic walls. Also, each layout has a repetitive stroke/frame which is common in interwar ads. The typography and layout of which reminds one of the old cinema signboards, where letters were displayed on white signboards between the lines. In an effort to capture the historical significance and age of the building, we have retained the original signboard as a logo, meticulously redrawing it with the entire construction. We’ve also retained the opening date, which was in 1436 as a mark of the building’s legacy. |
