PHNX Jury Interview 2024

Why did you think it was important to join the PHNX jury this year?
Because I believe in embracing a broader perspective for the industry and encouraging the inclusion of talent hailing from Latin American countries, as well as creatives whose profiles extend beyond traditional networks or renowed agencies. These awards truly represent that point of view.
What do you think of our hybrid jury, featuring creatives but also strategists, clients and people from all corners of the industry?
It is one of the most remarkable features of the awards, since it gives us the chance to judge from a different perspective than other awards and, in my opinion, allows the winners to add extra credit to the achievement of winning.
What do you think of the idea of free entry until the shortlist stage?
It is not only an innovative approach, but also it's a statement of inclusivity that inspires creatives to look forward to be a part of the PHNX stage. By removing financial barriers early on, we're casting a wide net, inviting a diverse array of creators to share their talents, regardless of economic circumstances. This brilliant stance democratizes the competition, ensuring that raw creativity, not financial means, takes center stage.
How would you define the perfect PHNX Awards winner?
The perfect winner dares to explore uncharted territories, offering a new perspective that captivates emotions, regardless of the brand it´s promoting. The campaign´s impact transcends mere numbers, inspires change and discovers insights that it´s audiences would inmediately relate to.
What is having the biggest impact on creative trends at the moment?
I think several factors are currently shaping creative trends, but one of the most significant influences is the rapid evolution of Artificial Intelligence and its integration into various aspect of our lives and workflow.

We previously witnessed how Social media has altered the way consumers interact with brands, consume content, engage with advertising and created new opportunities for brands to connect with their audiences. But now, we are seeing AI transform the whole creative landscape forcing us to constantly reinvent ourselves and adapt to these changes rapidly to continue delivering relevant ideas.
It is exciting to see how this revolution takes place, specially in our industry, but it is mandatory to be up to date and turn AI into useful tool to be more creative.
Who would you nominate as your two or three “creatives of the year”?
It is hard to tell. I admire a lot of great creatives, like Luis Miguel Messianu, Laura Visco or Fernando Machado. But, given the open nature of the PHNX awards, I think we are going to see breakthrough talent rise and take the spotlight.
