Title | Postable Fukushima Local Paper |
Brief | Seven years after the Fukushima earthquake in 2011, more than 30,000 people who were evacuated are still unable to return. But that doesn't stop them craving local news. On Fukushima Citizens' Day, the local newspaper Fukushima Minpo News issued a special "postable paper" that people could send to friends and relatives who lived elsewhere. It was like sending a letter filled with news that only a local newspaper can provide. The mailing allowed those living away from Fukushima to be transported back to their home town. |
