In 2023, Škoda undertook its most extensive rebranding in 30 years, introducing the new international positioning: “Let’s Explore.” We have seen car brands link themselves to exploration many times before, and in an already competitive EV market in Norway, Škoda is not alone in doing this. Therefore, the challenge was finding a fresh way to launch Škoda’s new positioning in the Norwegian market, with the goal of encouraging both existing and potential customers to engage with the brand.The strategy was to establish lasting presence and engagement around exploration. The solution was Škoda Mystery Trips – a free web-based AI service that generates millions of unique travel route combinations. By curating Norway’s largest travel database and integrating natural language processing, the AI plans personalized trips based on your inputs, eliminating the need for planning. To add a real sense of exploration, the places you’ll end up are kept a mystery until arrival. We made the service available to all adventurous Norwegians with access to a car, ensuring everyone could get a taste of the revitalized brand.
